Terms of Service for ScanXpert

Effective Date: December 4, 2024

By accessing or using the ScanXpert app (the "App"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the App. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use the App.  

1. Use of the App  
- License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms of Service.  
- Prohibited Use: You may not use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purposes, including but not limited to, the use of the app for malicious activities or to infringe the intellectual property rights of others.  

2. User Responsibilities  
- Accurate Information: You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of any QR codes or barcodes you scan. We do not guarantee the correctness or accuracy of the data provided by the scanned codes.  
- Device Requirements: You must have a compatible device to use the App. We do not guarantee the App will work on all devices or versions of iOS.  

3. Camera Access  
To function properly, the App requires access to your device's camera. By using the App, you consent to this access solely for the purpose of scanning QR codes and barcodes. The app does not collect or store any images or videos from the camera beyond the immediate scanning process.  

4. Data Privacy  
Your privacy is important to us. We do not collect any personal information unless explicitly stated in our Privacy Policy. All scanning data is processed locally on your device, and we do not store or share this data.  

5. Intellectual Property  
- Ownership: The App, including its content, features, and functionality, is owned by the developers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.  
- Restrictions: You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except as permitted by applicable law.  

6. Termination  
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, if you violate any terms of this agreement or engage in unlawful activities. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under this agreement will immediately cease.  

7. Limitation of Liability  
To the fullest extent permitted, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.  

8. Changes to the Terms of Service  
We may update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. When changes are made, the "Effective Date" at the top of this document will be updated. You are encouraged to review the Terms of Service periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the App after any modifications to the Terms of Service will constitute your acceptance of those changes.
